Every year we call for nominations for the Ping Personality of the Year Award. There’s a willing band of superstars out there, mainly volunteers who have helped to contribute towards a really wonderful ping pong experience for the benefit of the wider community, including many people who would otherwise not have the chance to play and enjoy table tennis.
Whether this was at a Ping! table, in a Ping Pong Parlour, or anywhere we might see some social ping pong, without this band of unsung heroes, many of our valuable ping pong community projects would just not be the success they are and bring so many benefits to the people who take part in them.
The award forms part of the Table Tennis England Pride of Table Tennis Awards and the winner will be presented at the awards ceremony in March 2019. Nominations were received from many of our delivery partners and a short-list has been drawn up of 5 nominees who go forward to the panel of judges – decision on the winner will be announced in a few weeks!
1st April 2019 Update: The winner was announced yesterday as Derek Seager for his work at the Camberley Ping Pong Parlour! See more here
