Ping! is all about bringing ping pong to the people, and while many of the Ping! tables are in place all year round; the summer months are when the outdoor tables really come to life as the Ping! festival relaunches.
With National Lottery and Government funding, Ping! places free to play ping pong tables in public spaces all over England and by providing bats and balls on tables, we make the game accessible for everyone to play and enjoy.
This summer our Ping! towns and cities will relaunch their festivals; and for first time South Norfolk and Portsmouth will be joining the ping pong extravaganza. Passers-by will be taken by surprise as they come across the tables in everyday and unexpected places, and everyone encouraged to have a game.
Last year over 745 tables were placed in public spaces of 24 towns and cities, with 1.5million visits to the tables over the summer, and nearly 200 social events held.
Nottingham Launch Event
Nottingham, already a champion of Ping! and a hub of table tennis nationally, has been selected as this year’s flagship location and national launch venue.
The event will be held on Saturday 19th May in Nottingham’s iconic Market Square. It’s Royal Wedding day so look out for plenty of royal references!
There’ll be novelty tables, professional players, a table tennis robot and loads of opportunities to pick up a bat and play. So if you fancy a game be sure to pop down, the fun starts at 10am.
